Smart Horse at Miracampos Ecuestrian Center

The Technology for Horses!

SmartHorse has been developed and installed at Miracampos Ecuestrian Center in order to monitor horses and facilities.

Smart Motes

The following Smart Motes have been installed for monitoring several parameters in the ecuestrian center:

– Until 15 Box Motes, which are allocated in the boxes for monitoring the  Opening/Closing Doors, the Temperature and Humindity inside the box, the amount of Water drunk by the horses and thanks to a RFID Control for registering when the box is cleaned.

– 2 Farm Mote in order to get, the outside temperature and humidity, the water level in a tank, which is used for irrigating the racecourse, and the hours of work.

Web Application

All data collected by the sensors are stored in the cloud, and all users can access them with their user and password. The web application not only allow users consult data collected by sensors but also configure real time alarms and manage all data about their horses.

Besides, the administrators of the center can manage their facilities, riding lessons, riders data, expenses, incomings and all the management features provided by Smart Horse Application.

This application has a responsive design so it can be shown at any device with Internet connection.

Network !

All the Box Mote electronic devices have a radio module in order to send data without wires. For reducing the power consume, the devices are “sleep” in a low power state the most time and only wake up to send data related to the horse that is being monitored.

For reaching long distances, they can form mesh networks dinamically, although in that case, all motes have to be synchronized.

All motes send data to a Gateway Internet connected so in that way, all collected data can be read from anywhere.

On the other hand, Farm Motes have a GPRS module in order to send data through mobile network. They are designed to be allocated in rural áreas where there is not Internet network available.

Low Power!

All electronic devices are designed for low power consume, and they can work powered by a solar panel. We have tested that sending all data every hour you dont need to change the battery.
